  • We proudly present you our Intense Hatha Yoga course aimed at helping you attain a good understanding about the true principles of both practice and theory of Yoga.

    We take pride in saying that this will be an authentic and unique course without any tourist gimmicks. Helping you to be a good yoga practitioner is the only goal.

    This course will be a pre cursor to our future venture of Teachers Training Course. Those who successfully complete this Intense course will be qualified to attend our TTC.

  • Course Dates

    16 July to 16 August 2023
    Classes from 17 July (Monday) to 15 August (Tuesday)

    What is offered?
    Minimum of 6 hours of lessons every day from Monday through Friday, and minimum of 2 hours of lessons on Saturdays, for one month/ 4 weeks. No lessons on Sundays.



    Additional workshops on varied subjects from Ayurveda to Cooking
    Accommodation on twin sharing basis for one month
    3 meals including morning and evening tea/coffee

    Class
    Maximum number of participants are limited to 10 in a group, ensuring personal attention and quality training. Classes to start as early as 6 am and to end by 7.30 pm, with breaks in between.

    Minimum of 6 hours of lessons, practical & theory included,
    during week days. At least 2 hours of lessons on Saturdays, followed by workshops on related topics like Ayurveda, Cooking etc

  • Teacher

    There will be 2 teachers, with a combined experience of more than 35 years in Yoga teaching.

    Mr. Vinod Rajan has 25 years of teaching experience. He was introduced to Yoga at a young age from his spiritual master, but ever since has always practiced and continued his learning with different schools and masters. Apart from teaching in many schools in India, he also taught in Europe and South East Asia. He believes that the benefit of yoga increases immensely when it is practiced according to its ultimate goal: as a path to know one’s true self.

    Introduction to Yoga Philosophy
    Introduction to Hatha Yoga, relationship between Patanjali & hatha yoga;
    Introduction to Yoga Darshana of Patanjali and the concepts of Chitta, Chitta bhumis, Chitta vrittis, and niropdhopaya; Samadhi, Sadhana, Vibhuti and Kaivalya pada

    Yogic Anatomy, Physiology: Detailed study of Chakras, Koshas, Pranas, Nadis, Gunas, Vayus and its application in Yogic practices Basics of Yoga Therapy
    Yoga and common ailments - mind and body ailments that can be healed by Yoga, including psychological benefits,

    Yogic techniques to cleansing body

    Pranayama - 30 mins every day ,

    Asanas : Seated, Backward bending, Forward bending, Twisting, Inverted, Balancing (Mini-mum of 40 asanas)+ Surya Namaskar variations including Kalari Namaskaram (Kalarippayatt aka Kalari is the traditional martial of Kerala).
    Kalari Namaskaram would require a certain level of Physical strength & flexibility

    Specific to every asana - its warm up , breathing, variations, modifications for various body types, chakra awareness, benefits, injury prevention, energy movements & Tridosha balance to be covered, also

    Five different approaches in Asana practice,
    - Alignment awareness.
    - Breath awareness.
    - Chakra awareness.
    - Elemental awareness.
    - Sweet spot awareness.

Location

Chamundi Hill Palace: Classes will take place in the same premises as this renowned Ayurvedic Centre. Its unique location and ambience is definitely going to be a major maotivating factor in your efforts to successfully completing this course. The Ambience in Chamundy already has received many feedback on how it helps in the spiritual uplifting of guests, which is even more perfect for such an intense Yoga experience.
Chamundi Hill Palace is so quietly and beautifully located upon the Nadukani hills with wonderful views all around. The whole campus and premises are filled with beautiful trees and plants, that even a wholesome spice garden visit can be conducted within the campus premises. The peace and quiet you will have in this nature blessed campus will be a major motivator in your yoga learning.

Accommodation

All participants of this course will be accommodated in our new Villa which has 5 ensuite double bed rooms. You will be sharing a room with another student, however unlike in a hostel or ashram, the facilities and space is more than just simple. This house is just 250 metres away from the Yoga Class/ Dining area.
You will also be informed about who you will be sharing with and the contact will be passed on so you could try to get in touch and know a bit.

Food

Sumptuous Keralan vegetarian food is served for all three meals, in addition to morning and evening tea/coffee Ayurvedic Herbal water is available all throughout the day.

Food is served in a common dining table so that you have a good opportunity to mingle with all your class mates and also the regular clientale of the centre.

Leisure:

The location of Chamundi Hill Palace is so special that many of our clients just enjoy the beautiful nature from here, as if in a meditation most of the day. However, there are many walking trails around and we strongly suggest you try some of these walks. A detailed map is available to help you pick your walk. Centre will organise some local visits for all its Yoga Students.

You could also make day visits to the backwater heartland of Alleppey or Kumarakom or set on an excursion to go up the western ghats all the way to Kuttikanam or Periyar and enjoy the mountains, during weekends

Further Studies: We will be soon announcing our 1 month long Teacher’s Training Course on Yoga, for which the only criteria for admission is the successful completion of this course.

Important Points Anyone who wishes to learn Hatha Yoga can apply
You may apply, even if you are a beginner.
While it is advisable to have a minimum level of fitness for the best results, even those who don’t have such levels may apply. Do know that, you are not just practising Asanas the whole day. You will learn a lot about Yoga from this course. Moreover, you will know what are the correct forms and postures for every asanas and the whole process of how to get there. With regular practice and dedication, you might be able to complete the asanas even if it takes few months of practice after the course.

You may apply even if you are not fully fit or flexible. As mentioned in the above, its possible even the one month long practice will help you improve your fitness and flexibility.

Yoga mats and a pair of cotton T shirts – ideal for practice – are provided.

Centre is a Non alcoholic, Non Smoking & Drug Free campus. We are afraid, we are quite strict in this policy and any one found violating will have to leave the centre with no refunds.

Free Wifi available The Nearest airport is KOCHI (COK) and is well connected with major airlines like Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Singapore Airlines etc..
Visa on arrival, with an e Visa, is permitted for international arrival in Kochi airport.
